Customizing systemrescuecd iso12/2/2023 ![]() Boot menu came up fine, I have started the OS from the ISO, it started to load and after a while it just froze (it has already loaded a lot of stuff, it seemed that everything will be all right when it just froze). The ISO was created, I have attached it to a Virtualbox VM and booted the VM from the ISO (just like I want to use the custom iso later). Mkisofs -o /tmp/custom.iso -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -V custom /mntqcow ![]() I have modified isolinux.cfg on /mntqcow (removed unnecessary stuff, etc.).I have copyied /mntdebian/isolinux to /mntqcow.I have mounted the original Debian ISO to /mntdebian.I have mounted the qcow2 disk to /mntqcow.I have added all the necessary custom stuff I needed.I have installed Debian on it (only 1 partition, no swap, root user auto login, etc.).I have created a qemu VM with 3GB disk (more than enough).I have downloaded the latest Debian 10 DVD.I have created it but it freezes during boot. The DVD can then be used to insert those files into the hard drive using Midnight Commander.I want to build a custom rescue iso for special needs. This should not affect the general way in which the DVD works. To burn the DVD, one must burn the image file first and then add all the separate files and folders. This makes it good for storing all the information that is needed from a hard drive and then formatting it. The CD can also boot from a customized DVD which has almost 4.6 GB of free space for backed-up files.
